Buster Keaton - A genius brought down by Hollywood

by Jean-Baptiste Péretié

Summary

In 1926, he’s at the height of glory. In 1933, he hits rock bottom. How, in a few years, did Buster Keaton – unquestioned genius of silent films – move from idolized star to fallen idol, alcoholic and lonely?

With a focus on these seven years when it all changes dramatically, using excerpts from Keaton’s movies as magnifying mirros, the film relates the fanciful life of this inventor of genius facing the Hollywood studios.
