Far from Iraq

by Delphine Dhilly

Summary

“Far from Iraq” explores the war in Iraq as experienced by four young soldier’s wives and girlfriends, following their emotional and political journeys during and after deployment, so far from the reality of combat, and yet so close to the men who live it and will bring it home.

By revealing the tragic gaps between war time propaganda and the long-term damages war inevitably inflicts upon the couples whose lives it touches, this documentary is a provocative, engaging and ultimately troubling look at the often unseen effects of the war in Iraq.
