Too Black to be French?

by Isabelle Boni-Claverie

Summary

The director, Isabelle Boni-Claverie, is Black. She grew up in a privileged environment and seems to have none of the social handicaps that could restrain her integration. Yet, she is victim of discriminations. Would the Republic have lied to her?

Enlightenend by analysis from Eric Fassin, Pap Ndiaye, Achille Mbembe, Patrick Simon and Eric Chalaye, along with testimonies of anonymous  persons, "Too Black to be French?" offers an impertinent thought on our society's inequalities.
